The full treatment. Starts with a warm bath using soap-free, biodegradable shampoo, a hand blow-out (no heat), ear cleaning, nail trim, and a breed-standard or custom haircut. Finished with a bow on every dog, every time.
Book a Full GroomFor dogs that don't need a cut but definitely need a reset. Deep bath, full blow-out, thorough brush-out, nails, ears, and a bow. A quick midweek refresh for long-coat dogs or a standalone service for short-coat breeds.

Every blow-out is done by hand with ambient-temperature air. No kennel dryers, no heat strokes, no unattended drying.
Senior and anxious dogs never get lifted. Our tables lower to the floor so they can walk on themselves.

If a dog is too stressed to continue, we stop and call you. A partial groom is always better than a scared dog.

Paws & Bows has been grooming dogs on El Cajon Boulevard since 2016. We're a small team in a small shop — five of us, hundreds of regulars, and a whole lot of bows.
We don't rotate staff week to week. If you ask for Eri, you get Eri. If Olia knows your poodle, Olia keeps your poodle.
Eri's the groomer your senior Shih Tzu will walk toward. Years of experience with older dogs, arthritic joints, and the kind of patience that can't be taught. If a dog doesn't want a haircut today, Eri is the one who finds a way to make it not be the worst hour of their week.
Olia can hand-scissor a poodle face in her sleep and has the steadiest clippers in the shop. If your dog has a curly coat — standard poodle, goldendoodle, bernedoodle, bichon — this is your person. Booking link coming soon, for now just request her by name.
Tina is the one rescues ask for. Matted coats, unknown grooming histories, dogs who've never had a good groom before — she takes her time, rebuilds trust, and sends them home looking (and feeling) new. Patient with a clipper and patient with a scared dog.
Angel runs the bath station and sets up every full-groom dog for success. The blow-out, the de-shed, the ear clean — everything that happens before the scissors come out. Fast hands, gentle pressure, and the first face most dogs see when they come through the door.
Lilly handles our wash-and-brush appointments from start to finish. Short-coat dogs, between-haircut refreshes, nail trims and ear cleanings — if your dog doesn't need a cut today, Lilly is who you're booking with. Also a Spanish speaker, same as the rest of us.
We started this shop because the places we used to bring our own dogs didn't feel like neighborhood salons — they felt like assembly lines. So we built the opposite.
No heat in our dryers. No kennel cages. No lifting senior dogs onto tables. No "we'll get it done no matter what" if your dog is stressed. We'd rather send you home with a half-groomed dog and a call to reschedule than force a visit that teaches your dog to dread the next one.
Our regulars come back every four to eight weeks, many of them for years. You'll meet the same groomer every time you book. We think that's how grooming is supposed to work.

Book OnlineA full groom runs about two hours for small-to-medium dogs, up to three for large and extra-large. Wash & brush appointments are about an hour. We don't kennel-dry or stack appointments — your dog is only here while they're being worked on.
Walk-ins for nail trims and ear cleanings, yes — until an hour before close. Full grooms and wash-and-brush appointments need to be booked ahead. Saturdays fill up about two weeks out.
Eri and Tina specialize in these. Tell us on the booking call (or text) and we'll set you up with whichever of them has the right slot. Our tables lower to the floor, our dryers are no-heat, and we have a no-force policy — if your dog says no today, we stop and reschedule.
Cash, Zelle, all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payment's due at pickup — no deposits required for first visits.
Last full-groom drop-off is 3:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday and noon on Sunday and Monday. Pickup is always before close.
